How did you get involved in the NEUTROGENA Fine
Fairness^® experience?
NEUTROGENA^® approached me to be part of a study in which women would use the NEUTROGENA Fine Fairness^® range for a month. Off-the-counter brands typically can't produce visible results in such a short period, but with the combination of ingredients in Fine Fairness^®, I thought it'd be interesting to see how efficacious the range would be.

What are the main concerns people have with
their skin?
My practice is mostly dedicated to cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology. Almost half of the patients seeking aesthetic treatments want a clearer, more even skin tone.

At least 89 percent of the participants noticed a marked improvement in skin tone. Can you elaborate on this?
I rated the participants' skin on fairness, tone, texture and overall radiance. After four weeks, most experienced at least a one to two point improvement on the dermatological assessment scale. To validate this, we used an instrument to measure skin fairness, which showed that 89 percent of the patients who stuck to the routine saw a significant improvement.

What advice would you give to those wishing for fairer skin and long-lasting radiance?
Skin tone gets darker and more uneven with age and sun damage. Thus, using sunblock or a moisturiser with sun protection qualities is essential. In addition, free oxygen radicals contribute to skin ageing and uneven skin tone. Reducing the amount of free oxygen radicals within the skin by not smoking, reducing excessive alcohol intake, and having a balanced diet, enough rest and exercise, will help protect the skin.

Which of the products in the range do you think is most effective?
Our study looked at using the entire NEUTROGENA Fine Fairness^® range together, which definitely improves the chances of getting
a good result. However, if I had to choose one product, it would have to be the Fine Fairness^® Peel Mask. It contains an active ingredient (Melazyme^®) that speeds up skin cell turnover and removes already formed pigments.
